SEARCH PARTY (currently in progress) is a multi-phase, energetically explosive dance work the follows a group of women as they set and test their limits. It is a communal investigation of boundaries and limits - asking "what do we have?" vs. "what do we need?"; what is expected vs. what are we capable of; and looking at the effects of designated space vs. free space.
Set in the round, sometime on a dancefloor, sometimes not, this Search Party organizes to look for what has been lost, what has been missing, or what has been hiding.
This work is currently in development with support from High Concept Labs Sponsored Artist program; Fall 2017 + was featured in Elevate Chicago Dance presented by Chicago Dancemaker's Forum.

The Fly Honey Show
Created and directed by Erin Kilmurray, The Fly Honey Show (FHS) is a raucous re-imagination of the classic cabaret whose mission is to shout a feminist agenda through body positive and identity celebratory performance works.
Beginning in 2009 as a one night event with 30 performers for an audience of 200 people, FHS has grown to a grand annual event featuring over 300 artists in a month long sold-out run.
Kilmurray and her team create wild group choreography for a rotating ensemble of empowered individuals. Made up of professional and non-professional performers alike, no experience is required to join the raucous event.
The Fly Honey Show hold a mission to advancing gender equality by empowering the voice to speak and the body to act through high-energy choreography , high-quality production value and featuring premiere emerging artists. In addition to the annual event, The Fly Honeys perform commissioned events with flexible scale.
The Fly Honeys have been presented by and performed at Thalia Hall, Metro Chicago, The Chicago Reader, The Aviary, The Logan Square Auditorium, No Small Plans Productions, Schlitz Brewing, Salonathon Presents + The Soho House Chicago.
“The Saltsis music, dance, theater, performance art and social experiment all wrapped up in a chaotic and joyous hour of movement. "- Newcity; Kevin Greene
Drawing inspiration from live music experiences, The Salts is an evening-length, immersive contemporary dance work with the spirit, prowess and explosive performances of iconic front(wo)men. Through movement, text, sound and direct audience engagement, the work became an exercise in the intimacies of a public vs. private persona. Sharing the bill with local bands and guest performers in a nightlife atmosphere, this work is an exercise in engaging dance audiences outside of the typical. In the studio and on stage, The Salts functioned much like a band by collaborating and performing a set of high-velocity dances to distorted guitar, driving bass lines, wild vocals creating a kinetic energy - like seeing a band’s performance from the inside of the kick drum.
The Salts was conceived + choreographed by Erin Kilmurray in collaboration with Molly Brennan and performers Josh Anderson, Katie Graves + Mikey Rioux. Sound Design by Mikhail Fiksel, Lighting Design by Heather Sparling, Set Design by John Holt and Costume by Eve Rydberg. Produced by The Inconvenience, The Salts premiered at Collaboraction in May 2015.
This work was created in support + residency with Links Hall, The University of Chicago, Salonathon and produced by The Inconvenience.
