the function
the Function is a genre-bending,femme-powered dance work that asks and imagines what is possible when empowered to rebuild our environments, atmospheres, futures, and realities. With a playground of choreography and objects, four dancers actively create, operate, and destroy their own performance worlds through DIY stage craft, iterative, athletic movement, bass driven, sonic storytelling, and house party energy.

Knockout
A fierce duet between women, Knockout is a choreographic collage that slips between one stage or place and another. Built from cinematic landscapes, iconic femme-fight sequences, odd obsessions, self-defense training, and THAT girl, the work wields perception as it charges the space between attraction and danger, strength and survival, how we see and what we see.

nightshade
An emerging large group dance work that seeks to explore grief, joy, safety, legacy, and searches for alll that flourishes best in the dark. Grooved through repetition, collective rhythms, disorientation and desire, the work is being crafted as a living architecture, a memory, a celebration, and a vigil that is bound by sound and movement.

SEARCH PARTY
Created and performed by a group of women and queer artists, SEARCH PARTY is a live dance work that relentlessly pushed up against oppressive boundaries by investigating agency, defiance, freedom in space and in the body — asking what is expected of us and what are we capable of. Staged like a sporting event, this work is wrought from defeat, endurance, compassion, competition, collaboration, and victory - as individuals, as a group, and together with our audiences.

The Salts
Sharing the bill with local bands and guest performers in an immersive atmosphere, The Salts perform a set of high-velocity dances to distorted guitar, driving bass lines, wild vocals creating a kinetic energy - like seeing a band’s performance from the inside of the kick drum. Drawing inspiration from live music experiences,
The Salts is an evening length, immersive contemporary dance work examining the intimacies of a public vs. private persona with the spirit, prowess and explosive performances of iconic front(wo)men. Through movement, text, sound and direct audience engagement, this work is an exercise in engaging dance audiences outside of the typical.
